Peli Case Saves Gear From Studio Fire

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA DECEMBER 3rd 2022 2-ALARM FIRE WAS CONTAINED AT 2:49 AM COMMERCIAL BUILDING (BREWERY/OFFICES) NO INJURIES OR DISPLACEMENTS CAUSE UNDER INVESTIGATION

Artists and creatives gathered but all they could do was watch as their studios, occupying a two-story historic building in San Francisco, caught ablaze quickly spreading throughout the building and shooting flames out the upper story windows. The SFFD positioned their trucks on scene, and soon the roaring hot flames were doused with thousands of gallons of water. Thankfully the building was entirely commercial, and no one was within the building at the time it caught fire. This is a nightmare scenario for anyone, having their work jeopardized by an accident at the workplace. This 2-alarm fire within a historic building caused millions of dollars worth of damage and completely burned the offices and studios of multiple artists and creatives. Could your gear survive a fire or flood in your studio?

Anastasiia was one of the creatives utilizing the building as her studio. Luckily, some of her gear was protected within a Peli 1650 Protector Case, Made in California by Peli Products Inc. - this case, while not designed to specifically withstand a fire, was able to protect the photographer’s gear from both the intense heat, which melted the case completely and the potential water damage in the aftermath of trying to extinguish the flames by the SFFD.

We helped the photographer, Anastasiia prepare for the next unexpected event (hopefully something a lot less dangerous, like a rainstorm) with a new Peli 1615 Air Case with TrekPak interior. She quickly put the case to the test and sent us the results, her gear is ready for their next on-location shoot and protected for the unexpected. On a more general preparedness note, here’s another blog post on how you can be even more prepared for a natural disaster, such as a fire / floor / hurricane / earthquake in your home or place of business by preparing your natural disaster preparedness kit within a Peli Case.
