As Sr. Vice President of Engineering and Product Development, Kevin Deighton utilizes more than 30 years of engineering and technical expertise to lead the research and development of Pelican’s new products from concept to manufacturing to market. Deighton’s role covers product development, product management and project management and is responsible for capturing the voice of the customer and guiding the organization through the product development and launch process. Some of his career highlights include the creation of Pelican’s LED lighting category, cases for electronics, Pelican AIR and VAULT by Pelican series.
Deighton began working for Pelican in 1997 as a lighting engineer and has since held several leadership roles for the company in research, engineering, and product development.
Prior to joining Pelican, apprentice-trained Deighton served as a Mechanical Engineer for Vickers Defense Systems, one of Britain's oldest and most venerable armament builders. While there he worked on programs for both the British and United States military vehicles.
During his tenure in product development, Deighton has been awarded 25 United States patents.
Deighton holds an MBA from Cal State Long Beach and a degree in Technology and Management Science from the University of Bradford UK.
